Freelancing ≠ easy fallback when you can't get a job.
Top freelancers are in the US, not Bangladesh / Pakistan / India.
Real freelancing = your time is so valuable a company can't afford 40 hrs/week of it (think $10k/hr).
Cheap, low-quality work is why Asia has a bad reputation in this market.
Assessment Rules

Questions & Answers
What viewers ask most after watching — grounded in what MD ALIM UL KARIM actually said.
Q01What is US work culture, according to MD ALIM UL KARIM?+
It is strict, fast, and on-time. The example given: a heart surgery at 1 PM and you're back in the office for a meeting by 4 PM. At companies like Crossover, getting sick for a week gives roughly an 80–90% chance of being fired the next week. The work does not wait — you cannot get sick. This harshness is paired with extreme execution speed (e.g. the WWII nuclear program, dramatised in Oppenheimer).
Q02How many stages are there in the assessment?+
Two stages: (1) Introduction and (2) Practical exam. The Introduction is the most important part and must be done WITHOUT AI — it teaches you how to learn fast. The Practical exam is open-book: you are expected to use AI and the internet fully.
Q03What is the full hiring pipeline for this position?+
Assessment → 3-month Bootcamp → Paid Intern position. Bootcamp pay is released at the end of month 3, and only if you succeed. If you fall behind or fail, the bootcamp is cancelled and you receive no reward. The intern role and its compensation are decided based on bootcamp performance.
Q04Can I use AI in the Introduction section?+
No. The Introduction must be done without AI. Using AI there leaves your brain blank — you won't remember anything, and you'll fail the practical exam. AI is fully allowed (and expected) in the practical exam.
Q05Is this intern position a high-paying salary?+
No. It is explicitly a low-pay, paid-training position. If you're looking for a high salary, the advice is to go look at other companies. The value here is preparation, equity opportunity on extraordinary work, and future earning potential — not the starting paycheck.
Q06Who is this position designed for?+
Freshers — people who have been job-hunting for one or two years and can't land a first role because no one wants to train freshers. This program is the answer to the 'I need experience to get experience' problem.
Q07What does 'earning USD' actually mean here?+
It means working with American clients, understanding US culture, and producing a result they will pay USD for. Getting paid in USD by, for example, an Australian client is not what's meant here — it's about real engagement with the US market.
Q08What is the real definition of freelancing in this talk?+
Freelancing is not a cheap, easy fallback. A true freelancer's time is so valuable that no company can afford them for 40 hours a week — the example given is roughly $10,000 for a single hour of work. Doing $5–$10 jobs is not freelancing; it's why Asia has a bad reputation in this market.
Q09How far ahead is Silicon Valley?+
Roughly 5–6 months ahead on AI models (top labs ship them privately to select companies first), and roughly 5–6 years ahead of New York in tech progress. The US overall is described as around 20 years ahead of Australia. These numbers are illustrative, not exact.
Q10Why the army / battleground analogy?+
Other training programs simulate the work — like army drills with no real war. This bootcamp aims to give you both: the harsh training AND the real battleground, so you're prepared for actual industry conditions, not a sandbox.
Q11What are the assessment ground rules?+
Read every question 2–3 times. Always provide appropriate time estimates and status updates — never skip status. Never copy or plagiarise. Never assume anything is optional. If anything is unclear, ask on WhatsApp.
Q12What's the catch on 'extraordinary' work?+
If you go beyond the bar, the company offers equity or a share of product profit on whatever you help build and sell. The base pay is low precisely because the upside is structured around ownership and long-term preparation.
Q13Is the 3-month bootcamp paid by the company, or is there a fee participants need to pay?+
The company pays for your training. There is no fee from your side. However, payment is conditional on successfully completing the bootcamp — we only hire the top 1–2 candidates. Candidates who fail the bootcamp are not paid.
Q14What can cause a candidate to be rejected during the bootcamp?+
Not starting on time in the morning. Lack of clarity on the tasks being learned or executed. Failing to meet bootcamp expectations or to commit 45 hours/week. Spending unrealistic amounts of time on tasks or learning. Any dishonesty. During the bootcamp you are not allowed to hold a second job or run any kind of business on the side — if this is discovered, you can be rejected at any time.
Q15How and when will I be paid during the 3-month bootcamp?+
Payment is not monthly. The amount we agree on is for the full 3-month bootcamp and is paid as a lump sum after you successfully complete all 3 months. If you do not complete the full 3 months — for any reason — you will not be paid anything and the company will not owe you anything. You must agree to this condition before proceeding. The exact amount is decided after you submit your assessment and is confirmed in writing before the bootcamp starts.
Q16Is the internship fully paid, or is it stipend / performance-based?+
Performance-based.
Q17What is the expected monthly compensation during the bootcamp?+
It is decided after you complete the assessment.
Q18Will there be a formal contract or agreement before joining?+
A contract is offered only after you complete the bootcamp. There is no contract during the bootcamp — if you fail, we cannot hire you.
Q19Is the bootcamp remote or onsite?+
Fully remote. Be aware that it is demanding.
Q20Where is the office located? Is there a head office?+
The company is registered in the United States at: 30 N Gould St, STE R, Sheridan, Wyoming 82801, United States. Everyone works remotely from their own location — there is no physical office to report to.
Q21What equipment do I need to work remotely?+
You must have a reliable setup at home: a capable PC or laptop, stable internet connection, and a working camera and microphone. Recommended: a powerful PC and two monitors.
Q22If I learn Django backend at an advanced level, can I apply for the Python Developer internship?+
Yes. If you can commit 45 hours/week, know at least one programming language, and can effectively search on Google, you qualify to apply.
Q23What will a Python Developer be taught?+
The stack depends on your skills, but typically covers: Golang, Python, frontend (and backend) work, Chrome extension building, and game development.
Q24What are the prerequisites to apply?+
Allocate 2 hours to submit the form. Commit strictly to 45 hours/week. Know at least one programming language.
Q25The application form asks for experience, but I am a fresher. What should I do?+
Upload a Google Doc stating that you have no prior experience. The form currently uses a third-party Bit Forms plugin that has several bugs — building a flawless hiring form ourselves is part of why we are hiring.
Q26What does it mean by portfolio?+
A portfolio means the tasks or projects that you have done in your past.

Hi there, this is MD ALIM UL KARIM.
In this video, you are going to learn about the intern position, or we could say
paid training position. So previously we had different stages and we did the hiring as you have
seen the previous hiring stage, but we have changed it now because of the recent experiences that we have.
So let me give you some examples, then I think it would be much more clear.
The first problem that happens is that when we have some candidate, we try to make them as the army of software engineers.
Okay, so in most cases, we, we try to teach them the culture and so that they could be a great talent in the world.
So these positions are not directly that you are going to work with a client.
But it's, it's like you are going to learn and we are going to pay.
And if you can do something extraordinary stuff, then we are going to give you let's say equity
or the product profit that you are going to build, whatever that we make a sale on the product.
And also we are going to prepare you for the future.
That is the main goal of this position.
So first thing you should receive if you agree with this term— and this position does not pay
a lot of salary, so please keep in mind— and the assessment is something that you have to go
through that we understand that you are capable at least to go into the boot camp.
So boot camp would be a 3-month session, and in these 3 months you will be paid at the end of
the third month if you are successful.
But if you are not in time or if you're not good, then we have to cancel your bootcamp and at
the end you are not going to get any reward for the bootcamp.
So bootcamp is a paid training program.
That means we are going to make you mature enough to work with the team.
Once you complete the bootcamp successfully, then we move it to move you to an intern paid position
that we will discuss based on the performance that you do in the boot camp.
But please bear in mind, it is not a very high-paid salary position.
If you are looking for something like this, please go ahead and look for other companies.
This, this position is actually built for freshers.
That means those who are looking for a job many, many times, or probably 1 or 2 years they're
looking for a job, but they could not find the job.
That's because no one wants to train freshers.
That is one of the, let's say, deepest sadness that we can hear.
But this is the solution.
So in most cases, people say, like, how can I get experience if something already says even
with the fresher you need to have some experience?
So this is kind of the answer to this question.
And also I would like to discuss a few more topic on this part because usually when we give
the assignment or things like that, people do not have the mindset what they expect.
So here we are preparing you for outer world, absolutely free.
Not only that, we are going to pay you for that so that you get prepared.
So you have seen companies XYZ, they, they take your money and train you like babysitting way.
I literally say it because what the training that you have received, these are very bad training.
The reason is these are in a simulated environment that you could not feel the real environment.
Let me give you an example.
In any country, if you go to the army section, they usually wake up at 5 AM. They start their training. Why?
There is no, I mean, importance of waking up that early.
They could start on 10 AM.
Why they start on that early moment? Your mind is fresh.
You understand the beauty of the daytime and many more other factors.
Okay, but then again, what if someone comes late?
The army has a penalty for this.
Army trainings are very strict, right?
So army trainings does not allow you to do XYZ.
It's very strict training, and that, that makes you prepared for the future war.
There is no war, but still you're getting prepared.
So this training, this boot camp and internship program is like that.
So you're going to get the army training and also the real battleground.
So what happens in an army training?
You're still in a simulated environment.
It is a very harsh training. It's not very easy.
Very few can get in, and then also very few can actually be successful later on because some people also give up.
So you need to have a very strong mindset to complete that.
Once you complete that, let's say you go to a war.
What happens in a war?
Let's say you are just just standing in a battleground and you are getting a bullet in your
head or getting a bullet in your eye or getting a bullet in your teeth.
Anything can happen in a battleground.
So battleground is not a joke.
And this is what we want to teach you.
We don't want to teach you the simulated environment.
We want to give you the harsh training, harsh environment, so that you get to be prepared for the future events.
There is nothing called free lunch.
So since we are investing in you, we expect something that we could do together. Okay.
And there's one more thing I tell everyone who tries to earn some money or do something.
There is a little bit or many other misconceptions.
So one of the misconceptions that we typically hear is the freelance.
Usually it goes like this, and you will feel it when I say this, because when people do not
get a job, people say do freelancing.
It's like freelancing is easier than doing a job.
And we have a misconception, like freelancing means like they have a flexibility of doing XYZ, things like that.
First, we have to understand Where in the world the best of the best skilled freelancer are? Is it in Bangladesh? Is it in Pakistan? Is it in India? They are not.
The topmost skilled freelancers are in the US. What does it mean? Freelancing is a journey.
Again, I'm not the expert of the freelance.
I have never done freelancing in my life.
So don't get the, let's say, idea like I'm the guru of the freelancing.
I'm just giving you the understanding that I have.
From the US culture, the freelancing, okay?
And also the movies that I have watched.
So there is a TV show that's called 24, and there was an event in 24 TV show that there was
an audio that actually does some serious activity with the country's, let's say, president.
If I'm not wrong, it's somewhere in season 5 or season 6.
And the audio got disrupted and there was one freelancer that they know of, they could, that
is the only guy who can fix it.
And that, that will tell you what the freelancer means.
So usually the freelancer means is that your time is that much valuable that, I mean, you earn
in 1 hour, let's say $10,000.
The companies cannot pay you that much. For the 40-hour period.
So that's why you do freelance.
That means if you have a 1-hour job, you just get $10,000 and that's it.
Probably you, you do 2 hours of job in a month and that's it.
Freelancing does not mean you work for let's say $5, $10, things like that. Freelance concept is that.
That is the concept that I know.
If you know a different concept, let me know.
In US, people actually try to understand How they would get the job done by some amount, by some freelancer. That's what they learn.
And we learn how to do a job in very cheapest way, in a bad quality, quality as possible.
So that, that is a negative thing I'm saying, but this is really what happens in the market.
That's why we have a very bad reputation from Asia.
And that's what I wanted to fix here with our company so that we can prepare and create talents, those understand the culture.
Let me give you another example that, that is actually fascinates me because most of the time
when I ask, people do not have the answer for, for it.
Which country in the world creates USD?
So in this case, I usually go into the silence and people say it's the America or US that makes the USD, right?
So if America is the only country who makes the USD.
We need to know their culture, right?
If you don't know their culture, how can we do this stuff?
Or how can we earn this USD?
Yeah, various ways we could do that, but this does not count as the USD earning because you
are not earning from American people.
You're probably doing it from some other ways around.
So these are not called as USD earning.
That means when we mean like you are earning USD, that means you, you are working with American
and you know their culture, and then you are producing a result.
That's why they're giving you USD. Okay.
For example, we have Australian client.
They also pay us in USD because our currency is in USD.
But then again, it doesn't mean that we are earning USD from the US people.
So I have a bad feeling because I only want to earn USD from US-based clients.
The reason I'm saying this, again, that, that has another tricky part that I wanted to reveal,
that if we want to work with US people, so we have to know their culture, and their culture
is very different than most of the part in the world.
I will come to that.
But the culture is, if in US, again, this is a culture, that means you get an idea.
It doesn't mean that this exactly, this happens.
The culture is like, if in US you have a heart surgery at 1 PM, by 4 PM you will be in office and attending the meeting.
That is the harsh culture in US, very strict.
For example, in Asia, if a hero becomes super hit, they will not come in time.
They will probably come, let's say, 5 or 6 hours late.
For example, Salman Khan, if you take him, Salman Khan comes to the stage, I mean, to the production
house in— if, if he has a shooting at 9 AM, sometimes he arrives at 9 PM, 12 hours late.
I'm just saying because there are rumors.
I don't know the exact period of time, but you can, you can find on the internet.
Again, we are not verifying Salman Khan's work, but that's kind of like there.
But in the US, let's say if someone is very much popular, they will Even be on time. That is the culture. They are all professionals.
There is nothing called like, I will be coming late.
That is not the culture. They're very strict.
And let's say you have a problem in family, they really don't care.
This is not the culture.
For example, a company that I've worked with that's called Crossover.
In most cases, we do not know how to work with these companies.
How, how we can earn the USD.
For example, if you're working with Crossover and if you get sick for a week, there is a very
good chance let's say 80 to 90% chance that you are going to get fired in the next week.
So that is the culture. It, it's very harsh. It feels like, why?
I, I was sick, but still I get fired because the work does not wait for you. You cannot get sick.
It feels very harsh, but that's the environment that US have.
Let me give you another example, then you'll understand.
In the World War II, all the countries were like fighting with different, different aspects.
In that short period of time, they did the research on the nuclear bomb.
They created that bomb, they tested it, and then they deployed it.
It sounds harsh, but that's the reality based on that.
There is a movie, Oppenheimer, you can, you can go and watch..
So that's how the US works. Very fast, very effective.
Now let me give you another example.
In US there is a term called not the term, the idea of the psychology is like which model is
powerful than which AI model.
So in Silicon Valley, again, the, these are not exact numbers.
I'm just giving you from the post and the let's say recent things that these are happening.
So just don't take every word as literal.
Just try to understand this.
So in Silicon Valley, if any model comes up, these companies actually give these models privately
to those specific companies with very large amount of money.
And these models are not revealed to the public 5, 6 months before.
So that means in Silicon Valley, they have the AI models, which is 5 months ahead than any other people in the world.
That's why it's called New York and Silicon Valley is somewhat like 5 to 6 years gap. Same country, different state.
Same country, different states have different progress in life.
I mean, can you imagine it?
So it says Silicon Valley is 5 years ahead, 5 to 6 years ahead than New York.
New York, the most developed country in the world, you can say.
Based on that, Silicon Valley is 5 years ahead even though they just get the model for 5 months.
Okay, now from New York or US, the Australia is 20 years behind.
They are both developed country from Australia and US.
US is 20 years ahead and Australia is 20 years behind, you can say.
So that actually tells you how much that improvement US can do. What is their mindset?
They always invent stuff, they always research this stuff.
And usually my wife asks me this question 'Always you work, what do you do?' I say, 'In this
22 years of programming, I, I did so many things, but still I have not worked as how a US person
works in one year.' That will tell you their dedication.
The company that I've worked with, crossover.com, which is world's top 1% talent, their CEO,
when they started, they were in 23 or 25, they were working 18 hours to 20 hours a day, and
their goal is to retire by 30.
So in most cases, that is kind of a culture in US, those who wants to go very quick.
But also you will find people who goes like with the natural flow.
But the tech people, they have a culture of retiring by 30.
You can see this example with Bill Gates, you can see this example with others, but Also, you
can see examples with Elon Musk.
That is exceptional case that he is still winning. He's still deploying stuff.
That's a different case, but an exception.
But you, you get to see the idea.
And there are people in Silicon Valley.
I'm just giving you the ideas so that you can understand the mindset because we don't have this mindset.
That's why most of the problems are created in Silicon Valley.
People who had cancers, they even do not get out of the job.
The reason is if they do, they will have nothing.
They have to be on the job every day even though they have a full cancer.
That's how the culture is.
I'm not saying that it's in a harsh way, but there are things that they have to do that they cannot ignore.
These are very specific terms.
The reason I'm saying all this so that you, you have a mindset, you get to learn this so that
at the end when you complete the job, you get a better job, and who will pay you a better salary.
It could be with us, it could be from somewhere else, but we will be preparing you for all these journeys.
And again, I'm going to tell you that I'm not going to go smooth.
I'm going to give you strict positions so that you understand the battleground.
So that is the mindset I want you to have.
Second thing is that assessment will have two parts. One is the
Introduction. Another would be practical exam.
So the— it is for every let's say, position that we offer.
It's not like only intern position.
Every position we offer, usually these two, or it can have more.
So we can just say position is not the intern position, but yeah, some of these are actually
related to intern position, but I'm going to share this, uh as a whole as this video later on.
So that I'm just putting as a position.
Now when the assignment is given, the introduction part is the most important part.
People sometimes skips the introduction part and goes to practical, and it has no value because
the practical exam is like where you are going to show the output, how you are going to do it.
And both of this assignment has something in common that we want you to have fresh thing that
you have not done in your life.
So in time to time, I get a question that this is new for me.
I've been programming for 22 years.
Every day I have to deal with something that is very new in my life.
So in these 22 years, if I could repeat something, I would be most happiest person.
So please never tell me that is new for me.
It has to be new for you.
That is how it is designed.
If you find something is common, we have to throw it out.
We have to give you something that is new.
You have not done it in your life.
That is the idea of this assignment. Okay.
There is another psychology behind these assignments is that in cases you might think you probably
have done open book exam or probably interviews in your life.
So if someone given you AI and the internet, what do you think you could do better, right?
So in this assessment, we try to put all this interview questions for you so that you can prepare
and come back to us with those all open book stuff, AI and things like that.
You utilize all your powers.
With great power comes great responsibility.
So you use that great power to showcase what you can achieve. Okay?
That is one of the best important part.
Another thing, in the introduction section, usually you are going to learn how to learn stuff.
In the introduction, you are going to learn how to learn stuff which you have not done in your past.
Once you learn how to learn stuff fast, you apply this, this to practical exam.
If you don't learn it, how to learn things fast, this assessment, whatever the time frame is
given, it might take 30 days, it might take 40 days, or even a year. You cannot complete it.
So introduction is very important.
You learn this, every bits and pieces, and you apply this to practical exam. That is the idea.
In the introduction, you should not use AI.
Some people do use AI.
They think They're doing a benefit. No.
Let me give you this example.
Let's say you have to eat some food, okay?
And you didn't eat the food.
You say, I eat the food.
Who is going to get the benefit?
Is it me or you? No one, right?
So if the food needs to be eaten by you, you have to eat it.
So that's the introduction part.
You have to do it without AI, because when you use AI, your brain is blank and it's not going to remember it.
And that's the problem you're going to face in the practical exam.
And make sure when you do go with the assessment, you provide appropriate time and status. Never miss the status.
Read every bit of question 2-3 times.
If you have any question, confusion, feel free to ask us, no problem.
But never copy or plagiarize someone else's work, or do not try to assume something.
Sometimes I hear like I thought of like practical or introduction.
I don't have to do.
I don't I, I assume this is— don't assume anything. Read everything.
If you have any question, confusion, feel free to let us know on WhatsApp. I hope that's done.
Okay, if you have any further questions, feel free to reach us out. Thank you. Bye.
